DESCRIPTION:Building on our ever-strengthening relationship with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Matthew Wood (Director of Artistic Planning) takes the podium to lead the CSO in the breathtaking Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. This will be complemented by a Queensland premiere of Momentum by famed Australian composer, Elena Katz-Chernin. Prior to his appointment at QSO, Matthew led a prolific life as a conductor, leading major orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Melbourne, Tasmanian, Queensland Orchestras) in addition to Lecturing in conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music.
