Love Songs for Afghanistan

Special Event

29 March 3:49am
28 September 7:00pm Ian Hanger Recital Hall

The Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University presents an evening of love songs in solidarity with musicians and artists across Afghanistan.

Throughout history, music and the arts have offered a voice of resistance and hope amidst political upheaval, conflict, and oppression. This also makes artists particularly vulnerable to human rights violations and violence, indeed reports have already emerged from Afghanistan of musicians burning their instruments – not out of fear for their livelihoods, but their lives.

Bringing together students, staff, and alumni from across the Conservatorium and our wider community, we send to Afghanistan our messages of peace, compassion, courage, and above all else, love.
