Queensland conservatorium – South Bank

The following venues are located at our South Bank Campus: Conservatorium Theatre (CT), Ian Hanger Recital Hall (IHRH), Basil Jones Orchestral Hall (BJOH), Conservatorium Foyer (CF) and Boardroom (BR).
There are a range of parking option throughout South Bank including;
- Queensland Performing Arts Centre -Enter via Stanley Place, through the Cultural Centre Tunnel. Car parks can no longer be accessed from Melbourne Street.
- Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre – Enter via Merivale Street.
- South Bank Parklands – Enter via Little Stanley Street

Queensland Conservatorium – Performing Arts
8 Burke St, Woolloongabba
The Burke St Studio Theatre and the performing arts department are located at our Woolloongabba studios.
Limited on-street parking is available on Burke Street and the surrounding streets. We recommend taking a train to Park Road station, the studio is approximately a three minute walk from the station.

Tickets & Seating
Following the recent Queensland Government COVID-19 announcement on the 21.01.21, Queensland
Conservatorium Griffith University will be opening most of its venues to 100 % capacity. *
As per the Government directive, we ask you to bring a mask to the venue.
If, at any time, you feel you are unable to ensure the 1.5 metre social distancing, you will be
equipped to wear it.
We ask you to arrive at least 30 minutes early for your event and please sign in using the QR code
provided throughout each venue. Paper sign on sheets are no longer permitted by law.
If you are unwell
If, within the last 14 days, you have been required to isolate under laws aimed at reducing the
spread of COVID-19, experienced any of the symptoms related to the virus, or been in contact with
anyone who has, you must not attend any performance at a QCGU venue. Likewise, if you, or a
member of you household, has travelled from overseas, or to a COVID-19 hotspot within Australia in
the past 14 days, you should not enter a QCGU venue.
Please contact QTIX on 136246 to arrange a refund on your tickets, should any of the above matters
pertain to you.
Hand sanitizer is freely available throughout the venue. Each venue is given a thorough touchpoint
clean prior to every performance. While we will continue to accept paper tickets at each venue, we
urge you to opt for the “Print at Home” tickets and to have these ready on your phone for
presentation to the ushers.
As per the state directive, we ask you to wear a mask at all times when entering and exiting the
venue, as well as when seated throughout the performance if you feel your social distancing is
compromised. Currently, the Conservatorium Theatre has no bar operations, and all public water
fountains have been turned off from public use. We encourage you to bring your own water to each
As per the current Government guidelines, we encourage all patrons to maintain a 1.5 metre
distance at all times within the venue. Foyer seating has been adjusted to encourage this.
With all events sold through QTIX, you will be asked to provide contact details for all members of
your party when making the booking, which will then be verified at the QCGU Box Office on arrival.
For other events, please sign in using the QR code provided throughout each venue. Paper sign on
sheets are no longer permitted by law.
Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University has implemented all legally required Covid-19
control measures recommended by the Queensland Government. By entering our venues, all
patrons and staff acknowledge and accept that there is a determinate risk of transmission of COVID19. In deciding to attend QCGU venues and events, all patrons and visitors are assumed to have
assessed all risks of transmission as well as assessing their own health risks.
*Ian Hanger Recital Hall will operate at a 100-seat capacity.

The Queensland Conservatorium box office is open one hour prior to the start of major performances for ticket sales and collections.
Please note we are currently only accepting eftpos at the Conservatorium box office and Burke Street box office.

Griffith University Student Tickets
Griffith University students are entitled to free admission for concerts presented by Queensland Conservatorium at the South Bank campus excluding special events as noted on individual events. Tickets are subject to availability.
