Ben Marks & Ysolt Clark: Retracings

Brass

14 April 8:42pm
06 March 6:00pm Ian Hanger Recital Hall

Retracings is an immersive concert of contemporary works for trombone and horn. Queensland Conservatorium’s Head of Brass, Dr Ben Marks (trombone), joins Ysolt Clark (French Horn) performing  music that reflects memory, space, and return.

The concert will feature works written by a composer when he was 103, a trombonist imitating a Shakuhachi, a French Horn imitating a Cat and bird and an imagined music emanating from the diaphanous walls of a cave.

Programme:

Elliott Carter  Retracing V  for solo trombone
Elliott Carter  Retracing II  for solo horn
Abbie Connant/William Osborne  Pond  for solo trombone
Britta Byström  Katze und Vogel  for solo horn
Larry Sitsky  Khavar  for solo trombone
