The following venues are located at our South Bank Campus: Conservatorium Theatre (CT), Ian Hanger Recital Hall (IHRH), Basil Jones Orchestral Hall (BJOH), Conservatorium Foyer (CF) and Boardroom (BR).

Conditions of entry

The health and wellbeing of our students, performers and staff are our priority. Face masks are not mandatory in our theatres and foyers, however patrons are welcome to wear one, should they be concerned about their personal health and wellbeing. This information is in line with Queensland Government guidelines is subject to change and will be updated accordingly.

When you arrive at our venues

Our staff are here to ensure you have the best possible experience during your visit. Patrons who are not respectful and courteous will be asked to leave the venue. Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU) has a zero-tolerance policy regarding abusive or aggressive behaviour towards our staff and patrons.

Hygiene Procedures

While we have implemented all legally required and controlled measures against COVID-19, by entering the venue all visitors accept the unquantifiable and inevitable risk of COVID-19 and other viruses. By entering the venue, all patrons and visitors are assumed to have assessed this risk of transmission in making a decision to attend all Conservatorium venues.

Tickets 

You can book tickets for our Conservatorium Theatre performances online via the Book Now button or by calling QTIX on 136 246. Tickets are available for purchase at the QTIX box office and approved QTIX outlets. To find your nearest QTIX box office click here. 

The Queensland Conservatorium box office is open one hour prior to the start of major performances for ticket sales and collections. 

Payment options 

Please note we are currently only accepting eftpos at the Conservatorium box office.

Group bookings 

Groups of 10 or more are eligible for group booking discounts for selected Conservatorium Theatre performances.

Discounts 

Queensland Conservatorium offers concession tickets (where applicable) upon presentation of identification to: 

  • Seniors Card 
  • National Seniors Card 
  • Members of Griffith Alumni Association 
  • Griffith University staff 
  • Parents of Young Conservatorium students 
  • Student (other than Griffith University students, when a student ticket price is not individually listed) 

Griffith University Student Tickets 

Griffith University students are entitled to free admission for concerts presented by Queensland Conservatorium at the South Bank campus excluding special events as noted on individual events. Tickets are subject to availability. 

Terms and Conditions 

Attendance for every event and the right of admission is reserved by the venue and any hirer of the venue. 

By attending the event, you agree to the Venue’s terms and conditions of entry. 

Unless otherwise specified, the use of photographic or recording devices is prohibited during performances. 

Refunds, Exchanges, Cancellations and Changes 

The hirer or presenter may alter or vary a performance, change performers, program or venue. Tickets will not be exchanged or refunded as a result of these changes, except provided in the Live Performance Australia (LPA) Code or as required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law) 

While you may be entitled by law or under the LPA Code to a refund or exchange where the event is cancelled, neither QCGU nor the hirer will be responsible for additional expenses (i.e., the cost of travel/car parking, accommodation etc.)

Our soloists and ensembles have performed to widespread acclaim across a range of musical genres from classical and vocal to Latin and jazz.

Established in 1957, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU) is one of the most comprehensive tertiary music schools in Australia. Tickets & Seating

Covid-19 Information 

In keeping with the Queensland Government Guidelines, masks are no longer mandatory in our venues.  We encourage you to continue to bring a mask with you for performances, as maintaining a 1.5 distance is not always possible. 

As per the current venues directions with allocated ticketed venues, the Conservatorium Theatre and Ian Hanger Recital Hall will continue to operate at 100 % capacity

We also ask you to continue using the Check In QLD app on arrival.
