Join the Conservatorium Wind Orchestra for an exciting evening anchored by Joseph Schwantner’s epic masterpiece From a Dark Millennium, complemented by a wide variety of international and Australian works. Superstar saxophonist Rory Kelly will be featured on the invigorating Omnifenix Saxophone Concerto by the exciting New Zealand composer, John Psathas. The Con saxophones will also combine with the UQ Sax Ensemble in a new work by QCGU Sax Lecturer, Dr Martin Kay. We will also join with guests from Eltham High School, Melbourne (Rick Keenan, Director) and the Young Conservatorium to perform a joint-commissioned work by Ross Irwin (MD and trumpeter of iconic Australian band, The Cat Empire) entitled Children of Conflict – The Light They Carry. Come along for an evening of spectacular music making!
