Symphonic Winds: Bury and Rise

Wind Orchestra

Brass, Percussion, Woodwind

10 December 3:53pm
04 October 7:30pm Conservatorium Theatre
The Conservatorium Wind Orchestra, under the baton of Peter Morris, presents an evening of epic symphonic works for winds, brass and percussion.
The evening features an international consortium premiere of QLD composer Catherine Likhuta’s new commissioned work Bury and Rise – a powerful tribute to her family and the people of her homeland, Ukraine. We also welcome a special guest conductor, Dr Jason Noble from the US to conduct Julie Giroux’s uplifting dedication to his late mother, Always.
The sensational Isaac Reed will be featured on another epic undertaking, Karel Husa’s Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Concert Band, and as always, there will be a couple of surprises in the mix as well, so don’t miss what promises to be an unforgettable night!
